A Shot in the Dark

This was an independent, impromptu project I produced in March 2025.

I filmed Kirkwood High School more than any other school last fall, and knew how important this game was to them. I never intended to make this piece when I filmed the game. But as I organized footage in January, I felt compelled to open a Google doc and start writing.

A week later, I had a script. Then I had a trailer. Then I had a first cut, and a second cut, and a third.

Until finally, I had a near-10-minute movie.

Like the Friends of Kids with Cancer piece, I have no analytics or impressive KPIs to share.

All I have to show for this video are anecdotes from players, coaches, and parents, and my pride.
